An unsettling dream

Random words: Manner (163 — fantasy) Almost (164) Basin (165 — mystery)

The manner in which the dream ended really unsettled me. If I didn’t know better, I’d almost believe Matt was trying to send me a message from the grave.

I couldn’t relax after that, so rising, I walked to the wash basin and splashed water on my face. “What was Matt trying to tell me?”

I looked down when I felt something touch my leg, and saw it was Lucky rubbing against me for attention … probably wanting to be fed. At least he had the manners to wait until I was awake.

“What are you doing up?” Asked Charlie.

Most of my previous drabbles have been published at Fiction Shorts but as I have fallen so far behind, I am publishing most now under my own profile. I am still using the daily random words kindly provided by Nancy Oglesby

I have incorporated three of the random words in the above drabble. I think it also covers the twisters “fantasy” and “mystery.”

“A Drabble is a work of fiction that is exactly 100 words. No more. No less.” — Nancy Oglesby
