Random word drabble 122: “nook”
Charlie would be back soon, so I needed a break from the computer and his book. I thought that he may be impressed if he came home to some fresh fish for supper, so I grabbed some fishing gear, and made my way down towards the lake.
Lucky following happily behind, occasionally stopping to chase a butterfly or lizard, but soon catch me up again.
This time I walked past the usual fishing spot that a Charlie preferred until I found a shady little nook beneath a weeping willow. I cast the line in, and then sat back and relaxed.

What is a Drabble?
Most flash fiction is identified as stories under 1000 words. Many short-form publications require you to stay under 150 words. A drabble is a short fiction story of exactly 100 words.
I find drabbles to be an excellent exercise in keeping your writing tight because it forces you to discard any unnecessary words.
Drabbles are normally a stand-alone story with a beginning, middle and end, all contained within 100 words. However, those who have been following me know that I have strayed from that format…
