Although, I am doing quite well here at the moment, I was writing here for over a year and making virtually nothing. As long as I get paid enough to cover my subscription costs I would keep writing here. I love the community. It is why I chose to write on Medium over other sites.
If they stopped paying anything they would also have to drop subscription fees, especially the Friends of Medium tier.
