Brenna, you make very good points here, and yes poetry is very subjective in whether it is good or bad depending on who reads it. Different poems appeal to different people. You can’t compare Kaur to Bukowski to Frost or Poe etc etc. and neither should you try.
I know the poetry I like to read and write, but that doesn’t mean it has to appeal to anyone else.
