We recently sold our old Toyota Coaster bus/motor home, that we hadn’t taken travelling since 3000 km journey from our home in Murgon to visit our son in Darwin in July, 2019. We burnt out a clutch on the return journey so had to wait until we could afford to get that repaired, but then COVID 19 hit and travel restrictions were introduced for an extended period.

Consequently, the Coaster had been sitting idle in our back yard and going nowhere. It was fine driving on the open road, and through small towns but, because of it’s size, I found it difficult to manoeuvre, find parking where I wanted, etc. in a city.

There were also a few unexpected expenses that arose like our Mitsubishi Outlander requiring a new air-conditioning compressor, my wife needing major dental work, and more. Paying registration on and maintaining three vehicles was also a killer, so my wife and I made the decision to try and sell the Coaster.

Within 30 minutes of posting it for sale on Facebook I had my first enquiry, and the guy wanted to come inspect it the next day. Within an hour I had three more genuine enquiries, one willing to drive ten hours to look at it. I though it only fair to hold off until the first enquirer inspected it, besides he mentioned if he liked it he would pay cash.
