“Of all God’s creatures, there is only one that cannot be made slave of the leash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve the man, but it would deteriorate the cat.”
Mark Twain

A Cat’s Eye View

It’s time to wake up,
Can’t you hear my meows?
My tummy is hurting,
So please feed me now!

That milk in your coffee,
It’s a total waste.
Pour some in a saucer
And give me a taste.

You spend too much time
Watching that screen.
I’ll sit on your keyboard
And have a quick preen.

I’ll allow you to stroke me,
And I may even purr.
But please don’t complain
When I need to shed fur.

Don’t give me a cat bed,
I’ll sleep where I choose,
On top of the wardrobe
Or on your best shoes.
