“Let me show you my collection, Jack,” Charlie said taking a key and unlocking a large cabinet. It held an impressive array of guns, knives, and swords.

“What do you think?” He asked proudly, but without waiting for an answer.“Most are custom made, and one offs.”

He chose a sword and handed it to me. I hesitated for a second before taking it. “You look like you’ve never handled one before.”

“No, I can’t say I have,” I replied before handing it back to him. “Why do you need all these weapons?”

“Why do people collect anything? Because I can!”

What is a Drabble?

Most flash fiction is identified as stories under 1000 words. Many short-form publications require you to stay under 150 words. A drabble is a short fiction story of exactly 100 words.

I find drabbles to be an excellent exercise in keeping your writing tight because it forces you to discard any unnecessary words.
