Dixie, thank you for writing this. I am sure the majority of writers at Medium still haven’t been, boosted. What makes me question the validity of the “boost” is I read one article where the author said he had been boosted four times in one week. The article I read that in wasn’t even that great.

Do you know some of the publication moderators receive up to $900 per month for recommending stories to be boosted? It may be a lot of work, reading and editing hundreds of stories, but when most writers here make less than $100 a month, I feel that is too generous. It also helps if you are a member of one of those publications.

I agree with you that there are so many good writers here and stories, articles, and poems that are more than worthy but will probably never be boosted. I don’t like it when I submit an item to a publication and it is picked apart because of the placement of commas and trivial matters like that, when it is the actual substance and feeling put into the piece that matters. If perfect grammar is all you care about, only allow AI written material.

I hope this wasn’t written in response to a nasty comment or private note on one of your stories, Dixie. If it was, don’t take it to heart. You are inspirational, and a wonderful writer and person, and should be proud of what you write … boosted or not.
