Firstly, Chantal, I am so sorry to hear about your mother in law. That is sad, especially at Christmas.

As for earnings, December for me was the lowest in over a year and this month is looking even worse. I guess the type of content I write is not the type valued by Medium either 🙁 I hope this is a glitch and stats are slow, but will be corrected but I can’t see how it hasn’t by now. I am giving it until the end of the month but if my earnings have not returned to normal acceptable levels I am dropping my FOM membership as well.

Medium is a site that attracts writers because it welcomes all types of writing, or so I thought. Now I am wondering if they only want personal stories and advice accompanied by qualifications and professional experience, and things like poetry and fiction has no value. That would be sad, because it is why I started writing here and I love the community and friends I have made here.

I understand the need to get rid of spam, AI cheating etc, but It seems so many real and honest writers have been caught up in spam filters and incorrectly punished as well by having their accounts suspended.

Let’s hope all this changes and things improve, though Scot Lambs post was concerning.
