Good for you in making that decision, Roz. If I lived in a city and close to all amenities then I would rather not have a car either. Repairs, insurance, refuelling, changing tyres etc. aren’t fun.
Unfortunately, I live in a rural area where there is no regular public transport and only one taxi in the whole town. That said, if I was having trouble driving safely, I would have to give serious consideration to giving up the car, and try to rely on others for lifts.
