Hello, Silent Monk. It is good to have you back. This is a wonderful article comparing the quite country life to the hectic city environment.
I live in a rural country town where we have all the necessities but nothing more. We have no MacDonalds, Pizza Hut, KFC etc, just a couple of locally owned cafes and two pubs. No nightclubs, movie theatres etc. in fact almost everything in town is within walking distance.
I have lived in the city, and enjoy visiting for maybe a week here or there, but could never live in the city. Housing is so much cheaper. My son in the city pays more for a week’s rent on his house than I pay for a month of mortgage payments. Life is relaxed in the country, the air is fresh. You can look out to an uninterrupted clear view of a night sky full of stars.
We have still come to rely on technology here, and bemoan how bad our Internet connection currently is, but that is one of the prices we have to pay for choosing a quieter life. I enjoyed your article. Take care.
