Hi Blinky Ink. I write mainly poetry and short fiction. I can tell from this article that you are a good writer. I am sure Tolkein would not achieve a boost here. I recently wrote a poem asking if the famous poet Robert Frost would be boosted.

It is a bit of a mystery why certain pieces are boosted and others not. Last year I was achieving one boost almost every second month. This year I haven’t had even one. So, I am sure the guidelines have changed. I am sure writers of fiction and poetry are at a disadvantage from the start, but I have still seen some boosts in those genres so it is possible.

Just keep writing, and stay hopeful. You are a good writer, and things may change.
