I enjoyed this piece, Misbah. You make some really good points. I have always said that I mainly write for the love of it, and would still write if I wasn't making a cent. With HubPages, for instance, that was easy to say as I was making and average of $15 per month. (That has even dropped recently.) So it didn't really make much impact other than maybe pay for coffee.

Medium was the same, well it was until my August payout. That was such a boost that it was impossible to ignore, and I suddenly thought "Maybe I need to take writing here more seriously, if it is going to pay me this much per month." Well I was in for a reality check soon after, due to what happened in late September, but it did inspire me to write more. So, even if earnings haven't been restored, I feel confident they will. I am glad you splurged and bought that nail polish. I hope you get the other one soon too.
