I enjoyed this poem and the references to various songs and performers. I love American Pie, by the way, and anything written by Dom McLean - a great poet. Many others as well, the Beetles that you mention, Credence Clearwater etc. Bob Dylan is another great poet. Ipersonally love rhyming poetry, and a lot of it could be put to music and turned into songs.
