I have noticed this concerning trend also, Michael. I stay at a motel recently and when I went to pay the bill they said visa or mastercard? I said can I pay cash and they were surprised. I also went on a dinner cruise on Sydney Harbour. The wait staff would only accept cash if it was the correct amount as they didn't give change, and preferred credit card.
