I think it is only natural, especially for online writers, to seek some form of instant gratification. On sites like Medium you feel if your article doesn't generate x amount of views, comments and claps within 24 hours that you have somehow failed.

This isn't the case and shouldn't be your way of thinking, but a lot of things are controlled by our need to increase our earnings so this will probably always be the case. Nice read, thanks for sharing.
