I too am excited that Michael has taken the plunge into writing fiction. You offer great advice, Harry, through this example. What I tend to do is write the bare bones of my story, and then think “what would have surprised me here.” Then try to add unexpected or surprise moments, that I didn’t even anticipate at the start.
