It is an important subject to discuss. Engagement is important and it is probably seen as different by certain people. I tend to check out the profile or at least one other article by those who comment on my work, and I usually base the length of my comment on the one I receive. If someone just say. "Nice article", I will probably just say "thank you for reading and commenting" or something similar.
