Jay, thank you for addressing the elephant in the room. It certainly is a problem that needs to be addressed, but how? Is for a much more intelligent person than myself.
Publication editors can police content that is posted under their publication, but not content posted under a person’s own profile. Absolutely anything can get through that way … unreadable or 100% AI written. It is funny how often I get a comment in broken and bad English, maybe saying good article (when it’s a poem) and asking me to check their content. If I do I find it written in perfect English (too perfect, and obviously totally plagiarised from elsewhere or written by AI.)

I do like how you were tactful and eloquent by not accusing the writers themselves, and hand the responsibility to Medium, where it should fall. I do hope they can (and want to) address the issue. I am in awe of you studying Spanish just so you could read Don Quixote in the original language. That is dedication.
