Linda, I never knew this. I thought everyone used a knife and fork the same way … fork in left hand (times down) knife in right, and held them that way throughout the meal. Now, I will be watching American shows to check the eating etiquette.
Who knows the correct history of how it started.

Glad you discovered a new show ‘Masterchef Australia.’ I am sure you will find a lot more differences too. Yes, lamb is easy to get here, but until this year has been too expensive to eat often. Since prices for it have dropped we have been eating it more often. We ate it frequently when I was growing up … well actually we didn’t … we had mutton or hogget then and it was cheaper… now you can’t even buy it. Chicken and pork are the least expensive meats.

We love our savoury sauces and gravies on meat.
