Mel, firstly congratulations on attaining three months at Medium, and keeping this piece under 1000 words. I feel somewhat guilty that you aren’t making wheelbarrows full of cash yet … (I use a coffee bottle for mine) because I coaxed you here.
I felt your articles about being a mail deliverer, and your book reviews would do well. But, you are right that the “How to become rich writing on Medium” articles unfortunately seem the most popular, and it does tend to suit shorter articles, some ridiculously short.
The strange thing about that is that if it is under I think a 90 second read, it doesn’t count as a read at all … so why do people write those. Maybe the claps and following is enough.
I still write at HubPages as well as here. I feel you can have the the best of both worlds … here ad free articles that pay you through internal views, and you can get comments, and HubPages where your articles are littered with advertising, commenting is limited to the forums, but you do get paid for the amount of external views you receive through the said advertising.
I never wrote at Bubblews, so can’t comment on that.
