It was only introduced a few days ago, quietly, and without fanfare, but already it is generated quite a bit of discussion. Susie Kearley MBA 🐹 Guinea pig slave first brought it to my attention and since then an article by R C Hammond 😎 FHB, SITR has again delved into the value of such a feature.

After initially thinking the new AI reporting button may be a welcome innovation, further contemplation has concluded that it may just cause more problems than it is worth.

I have been using two AI detectors, QuillBot and Scribbr, to check my own work, especially when I write rhyming poetry because I know there is a tendency to label anything that rhymes as being AI-written.

Well, my quandary is that I wrote a poem today in response to a word prompt from Jason Edmunds of A Taste For Life Publication.

I originally had written six stanzas, and had it analysed by both AI checkers. Scribbr said 100% AI written, and QuillBot said 45% chance of AI written. WTF! I thought.

Okay, I will add four more stanzas, that should reduce the perceived percentage … well what do you know, I put it through again. This time Scribbr 85% AI and QuillBot 85% AI. What am I supposed to do?
