Nour, what a wonderful piece. I can’t recall reading about using all your personalities to take control of your writing before, especially more than one in a single piece.
The advice to listen to a play list of different music genres or movie trailers/fight scenes etc as you write is excellent. I may try it.
I do write my pieces in all different scenarios and places … at my study desk, in the car, out on my porch, at the park etc etc. and I am constantly talking to myself in my head and searching for new ideas. I never know what may spark an idea, but Because I write mainly fiction/poetry I almost think of myself as an actor and try to transform myself into my characters that I write about.
I know if something or someone has upset me, I will write about that as soon as possible … while I am still feeling angst, that is important. Being able to utilize life experience and having a good memory helps as well, especially if you can easily transport your mind back to situations that are relevant to what you need to write about.
Thank you for this thought provoking and helpful article. Cheers.
