R C I fear that your concerns are founded, and these changes in demand are occurring too fast. I used to be asked to read books to my grandkids, now it is to play a game with them on their iPads. YouTube is booming, but most writing sites are dying.

As for reading, audio books are becoming more popular than ever with people preferring to listen while they do other things, rather than spend time actually reading with their eyes.
