Shereen, this poem is such a beautiful tribute to Little Gray. I shed a tear for this sad time for you, especially reading of Jambalaya’s sudden passing not long after.

I can relate because I sadly lost three cats in quick succession. Humphrey went first, then Chairman Meow about two weeks later, and Nike disappeared a month later. I fear they may have been baited, at least the first two. Humphrey was quite old, but the other two only about five.
It is terrible to lose a pet and I have had to write about it and how to try to cope a number of times. We have lost dogs too. I can’t imagine life without pets in it, but sadly that does come with a lot of grieving. Fortunately, the joy they bring in their time with us outweighs that.
