Soothing the Tension
Fighting doesn’t solve anything
Random word drabble 117: “soothe”
“Okay, okay, no need to get all agro* on me. You keep calling me Jack, and I’ll keep calling you Charlie,” I said trying to soothe the tension.
With perfect timing, Lucky jumped up onto the table moving back and forth between Charlie and me, rubbing against us and purring loudly.
“It seems Lucky is trying to give us a message, not to fight,” said Charlie. “Sorry, certain things stir me up.”
“I agree, it doesn’t solve anything. Still friends?” I replied, holding out my hand.
Charlie shook it quickly, then asked, “How are you going with my manuscript, anyway?”
