Thank you for sharing this, Tze Lin. I have experienced this as I attended my son’s wedding in Indonesia, and attended a reception and dinner at his wife’s family’s home. The women and servants did everything, the men nothing. Change happens very slowly unless everyone wants it, and traditions die hard.
