The expansion of the MPP is wonderful for people from other countries (not previously included) who were already writing on Medium. The lure of money for others, however, who do not have proficient English skills, can lead to an increased use of AI writing. They think they can produce dozens of articles written in perfect English very quickly.

The other day I read a new article by someone I had been following that seemed very suspicious, so I put it through an AI detector and it came out as 100% AI written. So did the same with two of their older stories and they were the same. I am no longer following that “writer.” Thank you for writing this, Bella, and always holding Media to account.

There are also too many comments like, “Nice article, you make good points. Please check this one of mine I know you will like.”
