Random word drabble 115: “jury”
Charlie’s revelation that I could never return to my original life as Jack Hansen, was a wake-up call. Why hadn’t I realised that would be the case? Just wishful thinking.
“Well, I guess you better stop calling me Jack, and start using my new name, “Harley Jackson. The jury is still out on if I will ever get used to it though.”
“Harley?” He said snickering, “Like the motorcycle. How about I keep calling you Jack, as in short for Jackson … like a nickname?”
“Yeah, a nickname, good idea. A bit like Chuck,” I teased, expecting a bite.

What is a Drabble?
Most flash fiction is identified as stories under 1000 words. Many short-form publications require you to stay under 150 words. A drabble is a short fiction story of exactly 100 words.
I find drabbles to be an excellent exercise in keeping your writing tight because it forces you to discard any unnecessary words.
