As twilight approached, the old writer sat by the window, quill poised. His gnarled fingers trembled as he dipped into the inkwell.

The parchment, inches away, awaited the final strokes – the words that would breathe life into his masterpiece. Tidings of his fading days whispered through the room, but he wrote on, determined. The sentences flowed – a symphony of memories, love, and loss.

As the sun’s coloured palette faded, he laid down the quill, a smile tugging at his lips. The parchment glowed, capturing a lifetime of emotions. The old man closed his eyes, happy and at peace.

Most of my previous drabbles have been published at Fiction Shorts but as I have fallen so far behind I am publishing most now under my own profile. this one, in fact, is an attempt to catch up to some degree and I have included five of the random words.
