This makes a lot of sense. I read mostly the work of writers I am already familiar with no matter how long if I know they wrote well. But I won’t choose to read anything longer than five minutes if it is by a writer I don’t know. If someone new reads my work and leaves a nice comment, I will check their profile and choose one of their shorter stories to see if I like them.
