This sounds exactly how I wash dishes ...diving in without a care. Often wounded. :) Well-written.

Forcefully, with unfocused intention, I thrust my hands into the foamy sink water, grabbing at whatever needs cleaning. Aimlessly, trusting too easily. I’m wounded now.
