Random word drabble 133: “purpose”

The main purpose for me still being at Charlie’s cabin was to complete the digital transfer of his manuscript “The Meaning of Death” into a word file ready for publication.

Charlie being away gave me the opportunity to finish. These true murder cases described were enthralling, but the last one had me questioning.

He had obviously added to the story very recently, because it sounded very much like the case in which I had just been a witness. A celebrity chef murdering a colleague in cold blood. The detail of the severed hands was also too much of a coincidence.

My previous drabbles have been published at Fiction Shorts but as of 15th April that publication is no longer hosting drabbles written in serial form. For this reason, I am for now continuing to publish the remaining chapters of this story under my own name. I will however continue to use the random words issued by Nancy Oglesby each day.
