I should have expected such an answer from Charlie. He was good at giving vague answers to any questions relating to himself. I was surprised he trusted me to transcribe his manuscript.
He was an odd fish, sometimes I felt he hated company, at other times that he really appreciated it but struggled to show it.
“It’s an impressive collection,” I said, stroking his ego a bit. “But I should resume work on your book. I’d like to finished it this week and get out of your hair.”
I will write
Into the night
My legs tremble
As words assemble

What is a Drabble?
Most flash fiction is identified as stories under 1000 words. Many short-form publications require you to stay under 150 words. A drabble is a short fiction story of exactly 100 words.
I find drabbles to be an excellent exercise in keeping your writing tight because it forces you to discard any unnecessary words.
