My Plastic Paranoia

They’ve been making Tupperware
Longer than I care to share.
This kitchenware’s not found in stores,
Party Plans are how sales soar.

Another container lost a lid,
I don’t have proof to blame the kids.
New lids — maroon, pink, or blue,
Choose the colour that suits you.

New colour range it’s all about,
It’s time to throw the old ones out.
There’s something new that you don’t need,
But will satisfy your plastic greed.

It’s durable, or so you’re told,
You’ll still have it when you grow old.
But don’t mention the microwave,
Or it will meet an early grave.

Book a party, invite your friends,
They’ll buy one piece, but there it ends.
Don’t ask your husband to attend,
If he’s polite, it’s just pretend.

The host has games to spirits lift,
Whoever wins, receives a gift.
Measuring spoons, cup set, or jug,
You’ll be addicted to this drug.
