Very well said, Taryn. I agree with every word.

AI does not necessarily need to be abolished in the creative world, but it is important that we use and consume it ethically. A computer does not need to be fed but an artist -a poet or a novelist- does. AI cannot exist without the works of thousands of unpaid writers used to program it. Even the most sophisticated AI program will never be able to create anything truly original. There just isn’t a substitute for human emotion and imagination in creative work.
