Was that the sun streaming in the window — almost blinding me? It was still early, it should have barely risen above the horizon yet. Or so I thought … I looked at my watch and established it was almost 8.30. Maybe that dream was telling me I should be awake.

“What do you mean, what am I doing awake? I told you, Charlie, the main thing I have to do is go to the police station and give a statement and proof of my whereabouts on the day of Chef Jamie Ramsay’s death.”

He grinned.

Then I heard a blast!

Most of my previous drabbles have been published at Fiction Shorts but as I have fallen so far behind, I am publishing most now under my own profile. I am still using the daily random words kindly provided by Nancy Oglesby.

I have incorporated three of the random words in the above drabble.

“A Drabble is a work of fiction that is exactly 100 words. No more. No less.” — Nancy Oglesby
