Well, that is sure one of the song I remember well from the old days. It is funny how vividly you can remember things from your childhood but have trouble if someone asks you what you did yesterday … that’s me anyway.
I stop I’ll remember the names of a couple of neighbourhood friends I walked to school with in first and second grade… Ken and Stephen. Can you imagine five and six year olds being allowed to walk a couple of miles to school unassisted by an adult these days?
I can even remember the name of my first grade teacher Mrs. Gittens, but that is probably due to the phrase we kids made up “Mrs. Gittens had some kittens.”
I too often wonder what happened to those early friends from Watt Street, Redcliffe, and how their lives turned out.
