What captivating writing.

Some days began with percussion sounds emanating from the kitchen. The syncopated rhythm of coconut scraping, flour pounding, and chili grinding was the gentle wake-up call and a happy reminder that it was either the weekend or the school holidays. You lay in bed until an irresistible whiff of milk rice demanded your immediate attention.
