It was hard to work Charlie out. He wouldn’t reveal anything unless I asked, and even then, he’d just give some generic or sarcastic answer.

I actually enjoyed reading and working on his book though, and especially the fact that Lucky kept me company while I was doing it. He spent most of the time sitting on my lap and we had a great time bonding.

I realized I’d have to leave here soon and return to my old life. I’d have to find new work though, as I had to resign from my previous job when required to relocate.

What is a Drabble?

Most flash fiction is identified as stories under 1000 words. Many short-form publications require you to stay under 150 words. A drabble is a short fiction story of exactly 100 words.

I find drabbles to be an excellent exercise in keeping your writing tight because it forces you to discard any unnecessary words.
