Wow, your weather there in North Colorado seems very extreme, Mel. I think there is pressure on the postal service even here. There was talk of reducing mail delivery here to just three days per week to reduce costs etc. Possibly they also have labour shortages.
Thanks for the update on your writing progress as well. It maybe down on previous months but is still quite impressive, and I think you are entitled to a morning off now and then.

As for HubPages, I posted my first article there in a month a few days ago…that seems my quota there now - one article per month. As you say, income has plummeted. I checked my earnings and so far this month I have accumulated 90 cents.

Writers have been complaining constantly about the number of ads in articles and the placement. HubPages responded that the Advertising team is continually monitoring it and confident the current model is working. They say they want writers to make money, because if we do so do they.

Someone said, “well why don’t you revert to the model we had five years ago when we were making ten times what we are now? If we were making more surely HubPages were making more.” Then another says, that with the current model, writers get paid for one advertisement on their article, but HubPages make money from the other 15 or so … so they make more, we make less.

Anyway, I am focussing mainly on Medium now. I am finding it much more worthwhile.
