…ugh
the cracks — slow, like the night. is
this a promise or just another story,
told in half-light? the words drift,
they never settle — not quite! and
what if the roses wilt; (what if they
don’t?) will the scent still linger in
the spaces, where the light doesn’t
quite reach? where the whispers grow
louder; louder still? or maybe they
fade; like the echo of a bell that
never rang
