“You Want a Tip?”
Charlie asked sarcastically
Random word drabble 130: “waif”
Charlie opened the door to the delivery boy. He’d paid online with his credit card, but the kid was obviously expecting a tip, not to just deliver and run.
“You want a tip?” asked Charlie sarcastically. “Here’s a tip for you then — Always be kind to children and animals.” The teenager frowned, but stepped quickly backwards as Charlie closed the door.
He remembered well the only time he had eaten at Ramsay’s restaurant. A dirty-faced waif had entered begging for leftovers or scraps. The chef was called, and showed no compassion, telling the staff to get rid of her.

What is a Drabble?
Most flash fiction is identified as stories under 1000 words. Many short-form publications require you to stay under 150 words. A drabble is a short fiction story of exactly 100 words.
I find drabbles to be an excellent exercise in keeping your writing tight because it forces you to discard any unnecessary words.
