I admit I am young and naive at times, but there was something about the way Charlie spoke during our phone call that hinted at more than just a passing interest in this case, and in my involvement.

Maybe, it was all just getting to me and I was imagining monsters hiding under the bed, like in my childhood. The advice he gave was actually quite wise, and by his advanced age he should have acquired plenty of wisdom.

This thought made me smile … “Lucky” — his cat though, that was a matter for discussion when this case was over.
