Your lament is a worthy one Bruce. The people who have the real power to make a difference are more concerned about their record profits than the state of the planet. The rest of us can just try and do our little bit to make a difference but that is a slow process and just be delaying the inevitable.
Fortunately nature usually wins in the end and finds a way to fight back and protect itself from total destruction.
